Health

After establishing a name in the field of education, Amba Foundation decided to expand the ambit of its activities. Thus, in 2000, the Health Programme was incorporated in its overall goal of community development.

Amba Foundation runs a Primary Health Centre at the Basti Vikas Kendra, Majboor Nagar JJ Cluster. Under this initiative, qualified doctors have provided free health-care services and medicines to over 15,000 patients. This programme also provides a forum for spreading awareness on reproductive health, hygiene, family planning and nutrition. Some of this work is linked with the reproductive and child health programme of the Government of India.

Periodic health-camps are an integral component of the health programme of Amba Foundation. Herein, the attempt is to provide free and accessible health care to underprivileged people in the vicinity. The Organisation had held a series of Stree Shakti Health Camps in 2006-07, for which it won the Bhagidari Award of the Delhi Government in 2007.
